Stage & the City’s Acting for Intermediates classes are for those who have moved on from the Acting for Beginners course and are looking for something more challenging. Our acting classes are ideal if you want to improve your acting skills, confidence and presentation skills.

Discover the buzz actors feel every time they go on stage, learn how to let yourself become other people and explore. During the course you will build up a tool-kit of performance skills enabling you to unlock character, help spontaneity and free your inner performer from inhibition.

During the April 2018 term, students will continue to develop their skills in acting at a higher level, including development of movement work, vocal projection, work on text, and the addition of two classical theatre masterclasses and two screen acting sessions. This term will prepare everybody for the rehearsals taking place in the September term for their forthcoming showcase which will take place in March 2019.

Course Content:

  • Improvisation
  • Voice work
  • Actioning a text
  • Characterisation – students will choose and work on specific characters
  • In-depth characterisation work focusing on physicality and voice
  • Devise and rehearsal of scenes for a showcase for family and friends
