ATTILA KENT  Attila trained at the City Lit in London and went on to perform on the fringe in London and Edinburgh. He had parts on TV for the BBC and Channel 4 as well as extra work for a number of films. Having returned to university to study counselling, his aim is to use the skills he learned as an actor on stage and in classes to help others develop the abilities needed to build their confidence. Attila is also one of the LAMDA tutors at the award-winning Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School.

Does one fancy themselves as Lady Mary Crawley or Thomas Barrow? Perhaps one has high tea with no time for riffraff? Or rather, m’am you fink your place is mucking in wiv the scullery maids in the kitchens?

Wherever you are best suited, this brand new 10-week acting course will have you exploring the highs and lows of society. Have fun, make new friends and delve into the Sense and Sensibilities of period drama.

This introductory course is designed for those looking for an accessible, yet professional route to the stage and screen. The course is suitable for novices and anyone looking to refresh what they may already know. Our tutors pride themselves on a fun, tailored programme which focuses on respected techniques to improve your acting, voice and movement.

 

Course Content:


• Improvisation
• How to play the given circumstances
• Playing objectives
• Sight reading techniques
• Interpreting scripts
• Stanislavski techniques to build a character
• Techniques to build confidence creatively
• Opportunity to devise your own content
• Work on scenes from published plays

 

Stage & the City will be hosting four Acting for Beginners courses throughout the winter term, each concentrating on a specific theme so our students can choose to do just one, two, three or all four courses.

 

Themes include:


• Period Drama – Mondays 6.30pm
Acting for Confidence – Mondays 8pm
Crime & Punishment – Tuesdays 6.30pm
Spies – Tuesdays 8pm

 

This course will take place on Mondays 6.30pm – 7.45pm,  21st September – 23rd November. ALL profits from this course will go towards Saving the Anna Fiorentini Kids Charity Theatre School.
