Stage & the City’s Acting for Intermediates classes are for those who have moved on from the Acting for Beginners course and are looking for something more challenging. Our acting classes are ideal if you want to improve your acting skills, confidence and presentation skills.

Discover the buzz actors feel every time they go on stage, learn how to let yourself become other people and explore. During the course, you will build up a tool-kit of performance skills enabling you to unlock character, help spontaneity and free your inner performer from inhibition.

Any student signing up for the September term will need to commit for two terms as the showcase will be taking place on Thursday 28th March. As we will be working towards a showcase, it is important that only those that can attend the majority of weekly workshops sign up. This will ensure consistency and respect for fellow actors.

Course Content:

  • Improvisation
  • Voice work
  • Actioning a text
  • Characterisation – students will choose and work on specific characters
  • In-depth characterisation work focusing on physicality and voice
  • Rehearsal of scenes, working towards a Spring showcase for family and friends in March 2019. A mixture of comedic and dramatic short scenes from modern and classic plays as well as devised scenes.
