In this brand new course lead by Maddy Anholt *(BBC Three, BBC One, ITV, BBC Radio 4, Soho Theatre, Latitude Festival) *students will be building on the fundamentals of comedy acting and improv. She will also be touching on script-writing and how to pitch your idea to TV and radio.

In this fun, friendly and sociable class you will meet new friends, push yourself and learn to believe in your own ideas. No experience is
necessary, this class doesn’t require you to be independently fast and funny, you will work together as an ensemble and ‘find your funny’ as a group.

 

Course Content:

The term will cover:

– Character building
– Vocal techniques including accents
– Confidence building
– Spontaneity and not blocking yourself
– Listening and response
– Physicality exercises including Clowning

 

Teacher:   Maddy Anholt

Maddy trained at ALRA (The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) and had her first one-woman comedy show produced by The Canal Cafe Theatre. Following this she had a sell-out run at the Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and at the Soho Theatre, London. Her new comedy pilot for BBC Radio 4 is released in December 2017. She has filmed with Warner Bros, Channel 5 and Sky.
