In this brand new course lead by Maddy Anholt (BBC Three, BBC One, ITV, BBC Radio 4, Soho Theatre, Latitude Festival) we focus on techniques to give a truthful performance in front of the camera.

You will write the basis of your own sitcom and see footage of yourself performing your work. This course is catered to absolute beginners who want to build their confidence, make new friends, try something new and have fun!

This course nicely compliments the Screen Acting course which takes place on Mondays. Get a 40% Discount if you book both courses. Please e-mail if you would like a place on both courses.


Course Content:

  • Vocal and physical comedy acting techniques
  • Improv comedy catered to learn interaction and reaction
  • Learn techniques to feel natural and confident in front of the camera
  • Learn how to pitch your ideas to television, film and radio
  • Learn how to write scripts and sketches and get them made
  • Gain techniques to learn lines effectively
  • Sight-reading
  • Improve your confidence to perform live and recorded comedy
  • Table read your own and new industry comedy scripts
  • Learn what self-tapes are and film your own


Teacher:   Maddy Anholt

Maddy trained at ALRA (The Academy of Live and Recorded Arts) and had her first one-woman comedy show produced by The Canal Cafe Theatre. Following this she had a sell-out run at the Gilded Balloon, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and at the Soho Theatre, London. Her new comedy pilot for BBC Radio 4 is released in December 2017. She has filmed with Warner Bros, Channel 5 and Sky.
