“Make believe you’re brave and the trick will take you far. You may be as brave as you make believe you are!” Anna-The King and I
This course will be delivered each Wednesday evening for one and a half hours and is the next step up from our Intro to Musical Theatre course. However, you are welcome to join this course even if you haven’t done the Intro course; this is a longer weekly session compared to our Intro course so we can get you up to speed. For those that have already completed a Beginners course with Stage & the City, or an alternative elsewhere, you may wish to consider auditioning for our Musical Theatre Troupe.
Over the 10 weeks you will work with the Stage & the City team including our resident Musical Director, Jack Holliday, who will guide you through a selection of musical theatre numbers, working on improving and developing your essential components of acting, singing and dance.
You will develop the skills needed to perform in a musical and what it takes to keep an audience entertained. This is a great fun and fabulous way to develop upon skills already learned in our Intro to Musical Theatre Classes and take your talent to the next level!
All of our classes are taught in a fun and supportive environment. Most of the singing will be done as a group but there are opportunities for solos!
- Develop the fundamental techniques needed for vocals and movement
- Understanding your voice and vocal health
- General knowledge of Musical Theatre and story breakdown
- Develop Acting through Song skills to create believable and engaging characters
- Learn dance material to accompany your vocals
This course is our Level 2 Musical Theatre course. It is a stand alone course.
However, once you have completed this course you will have the opportunity to audition for our exciting Level 3 Musical Theatre Troupe.
This course will take place on Wednesdays 7.30pm – 9pm, 30th September- 2nd December. ALL profits from this course will go towards Saving the Anna Fiorentini Kids Charity Theatre School.
